After operating a market in the annex of her extremely popular Mandolin Aegean Bistro in Miami, Anastasia Koutsioukis moved into a bona fide boutique and café space a block away. The temporary space presents her lifestyle assortment as she readies for its permanent location in a nearby, meticulously restored Art Deco gem of a residential property. As a first-generation Canadian whose family kept their Greek heritage very much alive in their Toronto home, Koutsioukis specializes in imports from Greece and its Mediterranean environs. Her experience in New York’s fashion industry coupled with her hospitality background create the perfect base for her new venture, Mrs. Mandolin. It grew out of diners’ requests for how to create her beautiful tabletops and feasts at home. Services extend to decorating and event planning.

MADE IN MIAMI
Miami museums and other art spaces are spotlighting local artists in spring. Nina Johnson gallery exhibits Tom Scicluna from May 4 to June 2. Works made with found materials from around the gallery, such as iron security grills in various stages of patina, comment on current gentrification. Its title, a fictitious, adjacent address, “6319 NW 2ndAvenue,” also references development. PAMM follows Miami-based Dara Friedman’s retrospective with another first-time, extensive survey by a local artist. Transmission, alchemy and transcendence are central to “william cordova now’s the time: narratives of southern alchemy” from April 27 to October 7. Cordova, a Peruvian, challenges traditional Western typologies through a range of media (pictured, 2003 Badussy). Textile artist Laura Marsh’s wacky, immersive installation, “New Havens,” is on view at Locust Projects through June 9.

The modern salon offers a full mani/pedi menu for classic, gel, nail art, and kids, as well as advanced foot treatments like hot stone and reflexology for a spa experience. Full body waxing is also available. Meanwhile, across the bridge in West Palm Beach, the Station at the Warehouse District increases programming for the whole family.
